“Universal olive groves”
‘I’ll go to fight for Asturias, my beloved homeland’ – my father used to sing. As a boy of about five, I wanted to know why. Slowly “Asturias, patria querida” and the entire Spanish Civil War evolved into a symbol. I became aware that peace and freedom need defending, generation after generation.
I was born in Poland in the middle of the most violent and brutal century in human history, just one year before the death of Stalin. Europe was still traumatized by the war. But the dictators and generals held power; massive atrocities and war crimes were still to come.
The upheavals in Spain in the 1930s were overshadowed by World War II. And yet in my formative years it was a reflection on the Spanish Civil War that influenced my humanistic outlook, in life and in art. My father was deeply disturbed by the war but, strangely, he seemed to regret he was unable at 14 years old to join the Polish volunteers who went to defend the Republic.
It took me longer to discover the poetry of Miguel Hernandez but it was inevitable, for the humanistic olive groves embrace men universally. Human dignity and rights need defending. Often poets stand up as first to speak out, tormented by loving so much. And pay with their lives. All dictators turn into dust, but poets live, to meet the flying souls, because we have so much to talk about dear friends.

Antipodean's encounter whit the poet Miguel Hernandez
This year is the centenary of the Spanish poet Miguel Hernández (1910-1942).
In the Antipodes we remember him for his moving poetry and humanism.
We celebrate this centenary with modest touches, combining the creative
potential of words, visual arts and music. We intend to rediscover the poet
and his verses in a relaxed manner; reflect on the past and present;
consider his legacy and value for our times, in art and in life.
In the hectic rush of daily affairs, it is easy to forget the spiritual and
sensual nourishment of the arts and literature. Today we take a much needed
breath, relax and share the beauty of Hernández’ verses and the modern creative
work they inspired.
The miracle of life finds its best expression in the arts – humanistic communion
above the confines of time and borders, giving hope to suffering, shelter to thought
and vision to those who cannot see. The ordinary words and rough textures in the
poet’s hands acquire rich meanings and stir deep emotions; they inspire us to doubt
the certainties and to find certainty in doubt, allowing the imprisoned spirit to fly.

Three friends arts exhibiton -Arts and cooperation
Urgente!; pillar el tren de la cooperación en las artes
Lindo titulo que mis compañeros de oficio han elegido para su exposición
y que va directo al grano pues no hay arte sin pasión y este
no podrá evolucionar mucho para los artistas ellos mismos
si no se enfoca la realidad de cooperar colaborar unirse,
entreayudarse .
Los artes visuales están en crisis que va mas alla de la dificultad histórica
para los "artistas de practica " de ganarse el pan de cada día .
Un factor importante de la crisis a mi entender esta en el extremo
individualismo y aislamiento a la hora de todo fin practico entre los propios artistas .
y otras secciones de la comunidad .
Seamos claros los artistas han fallado hasta cierto punto
que es por cierto enorme , el tren del cooperativismo de base
y criterios colectivos que crean pautas concretas y desarrollan
benéficas deontologías profesionales para artistas .
Lo que hace que la palabras artista muchas veces no quiere decir gran cosa,
en una sociedad donde cualquiera que esta en edad de hacer un garabato ,
o interpretar con un discursito precocinado de varios garabatos ,
ya se pasa al etiquetado de supuesto prestigio ; creatividad, arte, artista .
Un bravo a los tres artistas por la cooperación, a la profesionalidad
de estos que nos recuerdan que la pintura esta hoy mas viva que nunca .
Bravo por recordar también a otros artistas y al mundo que los artistas no competimos
nos expresamos y elegimos la manera de hacerlo y el estilo o técnica ,movimiento socio cultural o conceptualizacion artística .

Postcard from australia to Castellon Many memories
! Muevan cuerpo, intelecto y alma pues una exposición de pintura importante llega a sus lindes!
La exposición Tres amigos una pasión: el arte, se presenta en un lugar magnifico, en una región con la que estoy particularmente ligado.
Tres amigos, tres estilos, tres practicas que desmenuzan aspectos de la presentación, interpretación de realidades o si se desea los sentidos
al interior del alma y pensamiento de esa realidad que con frecuencia queremos ver única, simplificada, plana, cuando es tan diversa y compleja.

Los tres artistas presentan cada uno, una visión muy diferente de ver y expresar el arte, sin embargo el conjunto y no me cabe duda alguna desde la distancia
presentara una cohesión de la pasión de pintar y dar al mundo tres aspectos importantes de la pintura en el contexto contemporáneo.
V.Heca en su obra construye un espejo de realidades contradictorias las cosas nunca son lo que parece ser. VH es un "TENOR" del hiper-realismo
pero que pasea su visión entre lo poético y lo conceptual, buscando con ahínco lo espiritual detrás de la realidad que percibimos aparente de toda cosa.
Presente en sus pinturas un imaginario donde una canica es un entero universo, así que tengan por seguro que ofrecerá al potencial visitante ese fabuloso acercamiento
de lo que el poeta Wiiliam Balke testifico en su tiempo:
...'Ver el mundo en un grano de arena
y el universo en una flor"...
Nadroj del que por desgracia solo he podido ver la fotografía de obra y nunca he visitado su taller, dialogado y escuchado su voz, encontrado sus miradas
o visto sus gestos, por tanto no es fácil poner en algunas palabras un descriptivo o comentario.
Teniendo lo antedicho presente pues es importante señalarlo, puesto que, una fotografía es una representación en todo diferente a la realidad muy objetiva de la pintura,
sus particulares texturas y fluidos de tonalidades y gestos. Casi todo el mundo en nuestro hoy, alegremente parece olvidar esta esencial diferencia
que confunde estas dos representaciones, pintura y o fotografía, incluido nuestros gestores culturales y para desgracia de las artes incluso algunos artistas:
Lo apercibido de su obra en fotografía a pesar de esta limitación, me ha hecho entrever un autentico compromiso con la experimentación formal en la pintura
con grandes toques de personalidad propia parece buscar a retratar aquello sutil, onírico que toda realidad conlleva y entrelaza lo onírico a esos misteriosos sueños que basculan
en nuestra alma, Lo abstracto que nos hace preguntarnos dónde domina la idea de la realidad y donde la manera que la mitificamos como algo permanente cuando todo acontecer
que podamos describir está ya, en el pasado.
M.Parra puedo empezar diciendo que al igual de Nadroj no tengo el placer de conocerlo directamente y me refiero al contexto, su obra cara a cara, sus taller, sus ideas y filosofía sus gesto y sueños
Conozco pues eso si, un muy relativo numero de obras a través del documento fotográfico de estas ; Una cosa es segura que opto por un estilo como referente de una época pasada en arte que aporto enormes ideas
al imaginario artístico que como tal no tiene fecha de caducidad y que sirve de referencia a su propio sentir.
Lo cual nos indica ya que su compromiso desborda ese tan frecuente oportunismo de confundir la cosa artística con modas de temporada.
La idea tan promovida de que el arte contemporáneo es y debe ser contra las tradiciones heredadas es una de las grandes falacias de nuestros tiempos, pues ningún arte existe sin tradición
el que se quieran seguir y reflejar o el que se desee alejarse y tomar nuevas pautas ese es otro cantar y otra historia.

Four Elements Convergency
Artists, Anton Olea (Painter), Federico F. Mendoza (Experimental Mixed Media) and Marisol Jaque (Ceramist) explore aspects of collaboration between the creators and the four elements of Mother Nature. They focus on the relationship between creativity, philosophy, personal identity and commonality.
The artists capture the basis of the four elements in their artworks and demonstrate different connections, experiences, traditions and perspectives at a collective and individual level.
The exhibition will be open from the 1st – 7th June at Kiama Community Arts Centre.
Special Opening Ceremony:
5th June, 5pm – 9pm
Anton Olea (Painter)
As a surrealist visual artist, Anton explores the traditional and contemporary mechanisms of society and where the four elements of Mother Nature are embedded into the human life. Anton’s paintings contain mixed media, oil and acrylic substances, expressing a human dependence on technology, but also a defensive stance towards the unconscious expressions and personal sensitivity filled with dreams and hopefulness. www.antonolea.com/
Federico F. Mendoza (Experimental Mixed Media)
Federico chose the difficult path of expressionism; ambivalent and experimental works where the four elements are represented crossing opposites and transitions. He explores the different parodies and ironies with some critical surroundings and social realities. Marisol Jaque (Ceramist)
Marisol moves originality through a path between traditional techniques of ceramic arts and personal creativity. As a ceramist, she travels through the four elements , forcing the expression of creativity and its form within her works. aidajaque@hotmail.com
